Area attractions and activities:

  • Laughlin Heritage Greenway Park and Trails aka "North Reach"     
  • Davis Dam - Built in 1953, the dam controls flash floods and generates hydroelectric power.
  • Grapevine Canyon - A popular hiking area located in the Spirit Mountains just a few miles from the resort corridor. View canyon walls adorned with 1,000-year old Native American petroglyphs. Northwest of Laughlin off Highway 163 to Christmas Tree Pass.
  • Hoover Dam - Take a tour of this awe-inspiring sight that’s the highest dam (726 feet) in the U.S.
  • Lake Mohave/Lake Mead National Recreation Area - Hundreds of miles of breathtaking mountain ranges and sandy beaches. Enjoy Lake Mohave’s 67-mile body of water ideal for boating, fishing, camping, water skiing and hiking. Just 7 miles driving distance from Laughlin.
  • Laughlin Riverwalk - Scenic walking areas along the Colorado River. The Riverwalk will soon reach the area north of the Laughlin Bridge offering uninterrupted walking paths from Davis Dam to the resorts. Several resorts have capitalized on their riverfront location and have created unique Riverwalk experiences. Town leaders have plans to extend the Riverwalk though the Big Bend State Park to the Nevada State line.
  • Mountain Ranges - The Cerbat Mountains, the Black Mountains and the Newberry Mountains slope to the Colorado River, nearly meeting up in Laughlin, The Newberry range is home to Spirit Mountain, thought by Native Americans to have mystical influences.
  • Preferred Outlets of Laughlin - Over 50 stores, food court and nine-screen cinema.
  • Oatman and Route 66 - Historic gold mining town, founded in 1906 as a miners’ tent-camp area. Located about 20 miles south east of Laughlin on the famed Route 66. Visit quaint shops, restaurants and saloons. See staged gunfights and marvel at friendly wild burros.
  • Spirit Mountain Activity Center - Laughlin’s Mountain View Park is an outstanding regional park. Includes sports fields, child play areas, tennis and volleyball courts, skate park, walking/jogging trail, horseshoe pits, barbecue areas and sports and activity programs. It is also home to the Laughlin Senior Center where senior activities are held regularly. The Laughlin Senior Olympics is one of the town's most notable happenings.
  • Laughlin Aquatics Center - Large swimming pool with lap area, child swimming areas, a slide, themed family events, water aerobics and swimming lessons.

Outdoor Recreation

Three rugged mountain ranges, the Colorado River, and deserts full of wildlife and cactus attract millions of visitors to play outdoors in Laughlin. In fact, many residents of the region are former visitors who made the permanent move to Laughlin because of the unlimited recreational options. While gaming, entertainment and dining are driving forces in the region’s economic engine, it’s cruising on a yacht while enjoying dinner at sunset, riding a jet ski on the river past Laughlin’s hotel/casinos all the way to Lake Havasu City, AZ, or hiking, horseback riding, golf, fishing and more that lure folks to “play outside” in Laughlin.  From extreme water sports and other activities to a serene walk along Laughlin’s Riverwalk, the recreational choices will make any recreational enthusiast want to stay awhile.

From off-road races to PRCA-sanctioned rodeos, Laughlin’s many annual special events attract more than 250,000 people to the area and create more than $100 million in economic impacts to the Colorado River communities. Most of the events are broadcast on national television and offer purses that attract the highest ranking competitors in their fields. Event highlights include:

  • Concerts ranging from Blue Grass Festivals to big name artist at Laughlin’s resorts and the outdoor 9,300 seat Laughlin Events Center.

The median home price in Laughlin is $221,000.  Within the next two years, plans call for construction of more than 2,200 new rooftops including single-family homes, luxury condos and high-rise apartment units.
