WHO IS...AND WHAT IS...A CONSTABLE?

A statewide, constitutional, public elected peace officer under the statutes of the state. The constable is an integral part of the law enforcement community, involved in the delivery of justice. Constables are elected to four year terms. They work on a fee plus mileage basis at no expense to the taxpayer.

In January 2015, the Clark County Board of Commissioners appointed responsibility for the Las Vegas Township office to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The office is managed and operated by Sheriff Kevin McMahill and is recognized as the Office of the Ex-Officio Constable.

• Other processes for which a suit is commenced in civil cases 

Attorneys

• Subpoenas
• Civil complaints
• Police Department 
• Work with all Law Enforcement Agencies
• Work with all Community Outreach Agencies, i.e., Veterans, Social Service, etc.

 Mission and Principles:

The mission of the Office of the Ex-Officio Constable is to provide excellent service to our customers and community safely in a professional and impartial manner, while representing the interests of those who require assistance in carrying out civil processes. 

As a member of the Office of the Ex-Officio Constable, we have a role in law enforcement that is extremely important.  Each contact we have with citizens and customers represents the LVMPD and the Clark County Sheriff.  As such, our conduct and performance must mirror the LVMPD Vision and Values.
