Deputy Fire Chief Jennifer Wyatt began her career in EMS as an employee for EG&G, a government contractor for the Department of Defense. Chief Wyatt's career with the Clark County Fire Department began in 2001 when she was hired as a firefighter. After two years, she attended UMC's Paramedic School. In 2005, Chief Wyatt was promoted to fire engineer where she remained for over 10 years. During this time, she taught several engineer academies and proctored engineer exams. She also served on the FEMA team in medical logistics. Chief Wyatt also dedicated her time and abilities to work for the Clark County Firefighters Local 1908 union. She started as an E-board member and then was voted to represent the membership as a vice president. While serving in this capacity, she was the chair of the EMS, Staffing and various other committees.
In 2016, she was promoted to fire captain. During her time as a captain she served at the the Fusion Center, which is a position within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's MACTAC division. While there she worked to continue the relationships and polices created to further integrate the police/fire relationship. The division trained firefighters to perform Tactical Emergency Casualty Care under the escort of police to treat life threatening injuries and rapid extraction out of the warm zone to save lives. Chief Wyatt then applied for the of Assistant Fire Chief of EMS and Special Events and was selected and promoted in 2019. Shortly thereafter, Chief Wyatt was promoted in 2020 to the position of Deputy Fire Chief of Emergency Medical Services.
Chief Wyatt's hobbies include playing and coaching youth volleyball, hiking and many other outdoor activities. She is married to Nate and has a daughter, Taylor as well as 4 dogs.
