Which court do I use to sue someone in Las Vegas?
The Las Vegas Justice Court can hear civil claims up to $15,000 (NRS 4.370). Cases that are under $10,000 may be filed in the Small Claims Division of Las Vegas Justice Court (NRS 73.010). The Clark County District Court does not have a dollar limit placed upon civil cases filed. How can I change or remove a name on my sewer bill in Clark County, Nevada?
In order to change the name or names appearing on the utility bill, it may be necessary to file paperwork with the Clark County Recorder’s Office to address issues concerning the property, such as a name change or death of a spouse. The Recorder’s Office does not provide the paperwork to change the name on property, so you may contact an attorney or come to the Clark County Law Library to locate the paperwork you may need. The most common forms needed are Deed Upon Death, Death of Grantor Affidavit, or Affidavit of Death of Joint Tenant. These forms are not available on the Internet, but may be viewed at the library. A Declaration of Value Form will also be required and is available through the Clark County Recorder’s Office. Once completed, these documents can be filed with the Clark County Recorder’s Office.
