The Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, 3130 South McLeod Drive near Desert Inn, is excited to host the 29th Annual Children's Festival on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s festival embraces a playful children’s games theme, featuring captivating performances, food, and engaging arts and crafts for the entire family. Admission to the festival is free. Some activities require registration at the Winchester Cultural Center's front desk. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local vendors, food trucks and organizations. In addition to local vendors, Winchester has collaborated with the Children’s Entrepreneur Market to curate a market that features vendors run by children.
Festival participants can immerse themselves in creativity by crafting unique artworks, dancing to lively music, and engaging in interactive workshops. These workshops include mosaic tile painting led by the talented Sierra Slentz, percussion sessions, face painting, and exciting games. Little adventurers can also splash around in the new desert-themed splash pad. In addition to these activities, the Winchester Art Gallery is showcasing Clark County School District student artists.
An outdoor stage will feature the Baby University, Las Vegas Masters of Baton, Winchester’s hip-hop, ballet, and Folklorico youth dance teams, and singers Anabel Apichard and Cam Elise Music. Other performers include poet Ms. Aye Vee, the festival emcee; guitar musicians and Korabo Taiko drummers.
