About the Exhibit:
“All Love” is a solo exhibition by Linda Shaffer at the Pearson Community Center from December 15th, 2023, through February 9th, 2024.
“All Love,” by Linda Shaffer is an exhibit inspired by personal relationships, universal love, and gratitude. Linda was compelled to do work involving the concepts of love, relationships, and journeys of the heart. She believes that love in all its formats is the answer to societal hate, violence, and disenfranchisement.
About the Artist:
Linda Shaffer began her artistic journey on a school field trip. The trip was to the famous Van Briggle Pottery studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The highlight of the trip for her was watching a master potter work magic on the wheel. While attending school to become a registered nurse, Linda got the opportunity to take her first pottery classes in Manitou Springs, Colorado and loved the classes. After graduation from nursing school, she finally purchased a wheel and threw pots. To advance her skills, Linda decided to take college level pottery classes-- which led to countless other college art classes.
While at Loma Linda University earning her graduate degree, working with clay became too difficult to manage with her schedule, so she began making jewelry and painting with acrylics. After graduate school, Linda opened her own pottery studio, made jewelry, and painted. When she retired from teaching college, she made art her full-time focus. In 2010, Linda attended the Gemological Institute of America’s Graduate Jeweler program. She created the Red Pearl Art brand to encompass both her jewelry designs and art.
Currently, Linda Shaffer teaches art classes in Boulder City, Nevada. She is represented by the Priscilla Fowler Fine Art Gallery and UGallery.com. Her work is available at the Art Box in Container Park in Downtown Las Vegas and the Boulder City Art Gallery.
