Camper Host
PUBLIC MODULE
The private gated Host Area is located just as you enter the Shooting Complex. Each Host is given a personal gate code along with their RV site assignment.
DUTIES
A Clark County Shooting Complex Host assists program supervisors at the Shooting Complex with the needs of the range including, but not limited to, assisting with grounds upkeep, range maintenance, custodial, and range operations.
Shooting Complex host should also expect to assist range staff with duties as a line safety officer and other duties associated with Shooting Complex safety and range maintenance.
AMENITIES
A complex host lives on site at the Shooting Complex in the Host Area, comprised of 30-full length covered RV sites with a patio, concrete pad, private BBQ grill, picnic table, and a community picnic area. Each site includes water, sewer, and electrical 50 AMP service and access to laundry facilities and showers. Internet and phone service is available at the Hosts expense.
HOST ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to be a Clark County Shooting Complex Host you must:
- Be 21 yrs or older
- Own your own RV
- Live on site at the Clark County Shooting Complex
- Perform at least 20 - 30 hours of hosting duties per week
- Perform light to moderate physical labor
Applicants must meet the qualifications of the Clark County Parks & Recreation Department Volunteer Program. This also includes completion of a successful background check and interview. The Clark County Shooting Complex is a recreational shooting complex. It is not an appropriate place for resident children. Applicants with resident children or resident grandchildren under 18 years of age are not eligible for the Shooting Complex Host Program.
Shooting Complex Hosts may have children or grandchildren visitors for no more than two weeks visitation if advance approval is obtained through the Complex Office. Junior visitors must be supervised by the Complex Host and may not enter other areas of the shooting range without adult supervision.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Interested applicants may contact the Clark County Shooting Complex at (702) 455-2000, select option 4 or via email at shootingcomplexinfo@clarkcountynv.gov.
2. Applicants should indicate Shooting Complex CAMPER HOST PROGRAM for the position of interest. Please include a working e-mail address, working telephone number.
3. The Shooting Complex will contact the volunteer applicant, and mail the Clark County Shooting Complex Camper Host Program Information, Shooting Complex Camper Host Application, Clark County Background Release and Authorization, C.A.N. Authorization and Release form to prospective hosts.
4. Once a County Background Release and Authorization is approved an interview is scheduled.
5. After the applicant is approved and arrives at the Shooting Complex Main Office the Camper Host shall complete the check-in and badging process.
*Note: An individual cannot volunteer at any County function until the background check is processed, completed, and the host receives a County Volunteer Badge.
