How can I apply for a marriage license?
Couples can review requirements and apply online for a marriage license by visiting the Marriage License Application page.
Can I schedule an appointment to obtain my wedding license in Las Vegas?
The Marriage License Bureau does not schedule appointments for marriage licenses. The Marriage License Bureau is open 365 days per year including all holidays from 8 a.m. to midnight PST. It takes about 15 minutes to issue the paperwork.
When is the best time to come in and get our license?
The Marriage License Bureau is always busy, but typically, our least busy days are Sundays and Tuesdays; the least busy times are 8-10 a.m. and then 8 p.m. until midnight PST.
How do I get married at the courthouse?
The Clerk’s Office performs civil marriage ceremonies at the Office of Civil Marriages located in downtown Las Vegas. Select the Civil Marriage menu option for more information or to book an appointment.
How do we renew our vows?
Las Vegas specializes in working with couples who want to renew their vows. Whether you prefer a personal ceremony or a big shindig, the process is almost identical to planning a wedding. The distinction is that renewing your vows is not a legal ceremony and will not become a permanent record. The Clerk’s Office can issue a non-legal Certificate of Vow Renewal for those couples who want the entire Vegas wedding experience. Once I am married, how do I obtain proof of marriage?

After your ceremony, the marriage officiant has ten calendar days to deliver your completed marriage certificate to our office for filing. To search for your marriage record and purchase proof of marriage, select the Obtain Proof of Marriage menu option or click Order Online.

Why can't I find my marriage record online?
Regardless of where you were married, your marriage record will only be on file with the County Clerk where you obtained your marriage license. Also, make sure you are searching by the legal name submitted at the time you applied for the license. If that does not work, try searching by your spouse’s name. If your record now comes up, check the spelling of your name to ensure that there was not a typo.
There's a mistake on my marriage license (or certificate), how can I correct it?
If you notice a typo or mistake on your marriage documents, corrections can be made. Please see our Marriage Document Correction Request form.
How do I obtain an apostille for my marriage certificate?
Apostilles are obtained from the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office. It will require a certified copy of your marriage certificate that you must first obtain from our office.
How do I seal or remove my marriage record so that the information is no longer public?
Your marriage record is a permanent public record and may not be sealed or removed, even in the case of divorce or with a court order.
Is Las Vegas doing weddings right now?
Yes, you can get married in Las Vegas right now! The Marriage License Bureau is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, 365 days per year – including holidays. We do not accept appointments to get your license as the Marriage License Bureau is open for walk-ins, only. Resorts, outdoor venues, intimate chapels, and more are ready and available to host ceremonies and receptions for couples who are ready to tie the knot.
What is the best place to get married in Vegas?
While Las Vegas is known for its stand-alone chapels, there are nearly 250 other magical venues countywide that can accommodate any type of wedding you can imagine. There are affordable options for every budget, always with an emphasis on value. Whether traditional, whimsical, or luxurious, there is a place just right for your wedding. By law, we cannot recommend specific places or venues to get married.
What's the best chapel to get married at in Vegas?

There are amazing and unique chapels suited for every type of couple. Many of the heritage chapels have been recently remodeled and, surprisingly, several new chapels have also opened during this last year. One prevalent style that you will find is mid-century modern, which reflects our unique place in that period of history. By law, we cannot recommend specific places or venues to get married.

How do you arrange a wedding in Las Vegas?

Most wedding venues include a wedding planner who will take the stress out of your special day by walking you through everything you need to make your perfect day a reality, from custom flowers to fantasy photography to affordable or luxurious receptions. As an added bit of pampering, many chapels and resorts offer limousine service to get you to the Marriage License Bureau and back on the day of your ceremony.

What are the requirements to get married in Las Vegas?
Couples must appear in person together and have original government-issued identification, such as a driver license or passport. For a full list of marriage license requirements, applicable fees, and a link to the online marriage license application, select the Marriage License Application menu option. It’s really that easy!
Can you just walk into a chapel in Las Vegas and get married?

Many chapels in Las Vegas allow walk-ins, but they will also allow you to book in advance. Some specialty dates and holidays fill up very early, so plan accordingly. Whichever you choose, it’s easy so you can focus on having fun and enjoying your special day in Las Vegas!

Can you get a marriage license and get married the same day in Las Vegas?
Yes! Nevada does not have a blood test requirement or waiting period. The Marriage License Bureau is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, 365 days per year and does not take appointments – just walk in at your convenience! Select the Marriage License Application menu option to see the requirements for obtaining a marriage license.
Are Las Vegas marriages legally binding?

Marriages in Las Vegas are legally binding throughout the United States and in most countries around the world. States and countries each have their own laws. International couples are encouraged to check with their country regarding the recognition and legality of marriage in the United States.

What are the Clerk's office locations and hours?

Why can't I find information related to the courts or court records?
Due to the transition of Clerk of the Court responsibilities to court administration on January 16, 2007, the County Clerk no longer handles court matters. You will find information regarding Clark County Courts on their website: Eight Judicial District Court.
Where can I find information on birth and death records?
The Southern Nevada Health District retains birth records from 1972 forward and death records from 1978 forward. Records prior to these years must be obtained from the Office of Vital Records and Statistics in Carson City. Please see their respective websites for more information: Southern Nevada Health District.
How do I schedule an appointment for passport acceptance?
Our appointment scheduler is on the Passports Acceptance menu option. Please note that only available days and times will show, if you do not see any availability this means all appointments are currently reserved. You are encourages to check the site daily for openings.
Where can I file for divorce or obtain a copy of my divorce papers?
Couples wishing to file for divorce must file in the state in which they live. We do not need, nor accept, proof of divorce. All Nevada divorce matters and records are handled by Family Court, located at 601 N. Pecos Rd.; their phone number is (702) 455-2590 or the Eighth Judicial District Courts site

Has my online document order been mailed yet?
Once your order has been processed, you will receive an email from our office. Be sure to check your spam folder if you did not receive the email in your Inbox. You can also check the status on our website by clicking Order Status.
What do I do if I have not received my online order?
We ask that you wait at least 3 weeks from the date you place your order (international orders may take up to 6 weeks) before submitting a request for a replacement. To submit a request for a replacement, email CCClerkOrder@ClarkCountyNV.gov and include the name on the order, date the order was placed, transaction # (if known), and the mailing address you provided for the order.
