Updates to Title 1, Title 10

During the February 4, 2025, BCC meeting, several changes were made to Title 1 and Title 10 codes relating to Animal Protection Services.  Please click here to view the changes. 

**Important Changes to Note**

Breeder/Show Permit criteria and fees have changed, to view these changes, click here, beginning on page 16 of the pdf 10.35.135 Breeder/show permit. 

Microchipping will be mandatory for dogs and cats, this change goes into effect on August 4, 2025 (six months). To view this change, click here, beginning on page 13 of the pdf, 10.08.070 Tagging, Microchipping—Tag/rabies certification misuse.

Animal Handler Training and Animal Welfare Notification effective August 4, 2026 (eighteen months), this requires all pet service businesses employees and owners to attend a training course. To view this change, click here, beginning on page 32 of the pdf. This encompasses several codes 10.30.190 Animal Handler Training of Pet Service Providers and 10.30.200 Animal Welfare Notification

Animal Protection Services promotes responsible pet ownership by necessitating public safety, animal safety, rabies control, and compliance with all Clark County Title 10 Ordinance requirements through education, service and enforcement. We partner with and support valley-wide, animal-care, nonprofit organizations and community groups to assist in meeting community needs related to animal welfare.
