Alexander “Alex” Chen graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in 2004. Alex then attended The Ohio State University College of Law. In 2007, Alex accepted a position as a law clerk with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office where he has continued to serve.

Alex has served in multiple capacities within the District Attorney’s Office. He has worked on specialty teams that prosecuted domestic violence cases, human trafficking offenders, and the sexual exploitation of minors. Alex has also conducted over 30 jury trials with charges ranging from murder to complex financial fraud.

Prior to promoting to his role of Assistant District Attorney, Alex was the team chief of the Appellate Division. There he argued cases before both the Nevada Supreme Court and the Nevada Court of Appeals. Alex was appointed as a member to the committee that established the latest Nevada Rules of Appellate Procedure and has received additional accolades as a top appellate attorney.  He has represented the District Attorney’s Office in front of the Nevada Pardons Board. 

Alex strives to stay active within the community. He is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Las Vegas where he later served as a co-chair for its annual Criminal Justice Day program.  He has served as an appointed board member to both the Henderson Parks and Recreation Board and the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Other engagements have included volunteering with The Just One Project, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, and Families for Effective Autism Treatment. As a former participant of the high school mock trial program himself, Alex started and coached at Clark High School. In their first year, the team successfully made it to the State finals.
