Robert Daskas was raised in Henderson, Nevada with his six siblings, including a twin brother who is a successful artist at DreamWorks. He spent a large part of his childhood at the Henderson Boy's Club where, at age nine, he learned to wrestle. He later became a member of the Basic High school State Championship Wrestling Team.
Mr. Daskas was ranked #2 in his McGeorge School of Law graduating class. Upon graduation from law school, Robert was recruited by Lionel Sawyer & Collins—the largest, most prestigious civil law firm in Nevada—where he worked for two years as a litigation associate. Robert had a passion to become a trial attorney, so he elected to leave his lucrative job to join the office of the Clark County District Attorney in 1995.
In 2015, Mr. Daskas became Assistant District Attorney of the Criminal Division. This was after he served more than 20 years as a prosecutor--including as the Team Chief of the Major Violator Unit, where he tried dozens of murder cases, some of which have been featured on
America's Most Wanted, Dateline NBC, 48 Hours and Court T.V. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the Major Violator Units (Homicide, Gun and Gang), the Special Victims Unit, the Domestic Violence Unit, the DUI Unit, all five General Litigation Teams and the Investigative Division. In total, Daskas supervises over 85 attorneys.
Mr. Daskas also oversees all officer-involved-shootings and other law enforcement use-of-force incidents in Clark County. Law enforcement agencies are required to contact him personally when an officer-involved-shooting or certain use-of-force incidents occur in Clark County. He is on call 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and responds personally to all officer-involved-shooting scenes. His direct involvement is crucial, because he supervises the prosecutors who ultimately conduct Police Fatality Public Fact-finding Reviews and draft the
Use of Force Reports which determine criminality
In the book
Fire in the Desert: The True Story of the Craig Titus – Kelly Ryan Murder Mystery, Mr. Daskas was described as "easily the best prosecutor in the State of Nevada".
