The Rotunda Gallery, situated within the Clark County Government Center, is a space dedicated to showcasing accessible artwork that appeals to a wide-ranging audience. Its prime location benefits from high foot traffic, drawing in visitors who are there for business licensing, tax services, and Board of Commissioner meetings, thereby establishing the gallery as a vital cultural hub.

Visitors can enjoy engaging receptions that feature live music and refreshments, enriching the community experience. The gallery also collaborates with the Clark County Museum to curate thematic exhibits that intertwine art with local history. Noteworthy events include the annual Black History Month Exhibitions and the meaningful 1 October Memorial Design, making the Rotunda Gallery a must-visit destination for art lovers and community members alike.

That is how we want the people of Clark County to feel this Women’s History Month by showing you all the strong women that the community has recognized for this exhibition. Everyone from local artists, public figures, mothers, family members, and others of importance in our lives. This exhibition is juried by Fawn Douglas, an Indigenous artist, activist, and proud member of the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe. She is the co-founder of Nuwu Art, organizes with the non-profit IndigenousAF, works as a Cultural Engagement Specialist with Meow Wolf, and serves as an Art Commissioner for the City of Las Vegas Ward 3. Her studio practice includes drawing, painting, sculpture, performance, and textile. Fawn earned her MFA with presidential honors at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

This exhibition also features a historical exhibition in partnership with the Clark County Museum and historian, Laura Ferguson.

exhibit-empowered-2025-laurafergusonLaura Ferguson is the Founder and Principal Historian of Time and Place Historical Research, which focuses on inclusive, place-based historical research and interpretation. Specializing in the history of the American West and public history, Laura is dedicated to collaborating with communities to illuminate their histories. With prior experience as a curator at the High Desert Museum and a visiting assistant professor at Whitman College, she has also served on the Oregon Heritage Commission and currently sits on the board of the Oregon Historical Quarterly. Laura holds a doctorate from the University of Michigan and resides in Bend, Oregon, where she enjoys hiking in the mountains and spending time by the river.
