Traffic Signal Outages to Occur at Two East Valley Intersections This Week for Overnight Replacement Work

Clark County’s Public Works Department is alerting the public of upcoming traffic signal outages and lane restrictions that will begin at 9 p.m. on June 12 and June 13 at two different intersections in the east Las Vegas Valley to replace traffic signals. The dates and locations for the work are as follows:

  • On Wednesday, June 12, traffic signals will be replaced at Sahara Avenue and Sandhill Road. Activation of the new signal is expected to occur on the morning of June 13.
  • On Thursday, June 13, traffic signals will be replaced at Vegas Valley Drive and Lamb Boulevard with activation expected to occur on the morning of June 14.

The work is part of a $2.9 million improvement project that started in March to upgrade traffic signs and signals at the intersections, add yellow flashing arrows at all four corners of the intersections and redo sidewalk ramps at and patch paving.

During the scheduled outages, the public is advised that traffic signals at the impacted intersections will be dark and travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will be present during the work hours to assist with traffic control until the new signals are up and activated.
