Clark County Celebrates Second Annual Día de Reyes with Festive Community Event and Resource Fair

Observed in many Latin American countries, Día de Reyes commemorates the visit of the Three Wise Men to the infant Jesus and marks the end of the Christmas season. This year's celebration promises to be even bigger and better than before.

Festivities will commence at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, at the Clark County Government Center, located at 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. Families can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with music, exciting activities, and a special appearance by the Three Wise Men themselves with surprises for the little ones.

The highlight of the event will undoubtedly be the unveiling of a colossal Rosca de Reyes (King’s Cake), a traditional sweet bread adorned with colorful candied fruits and sugar. This symbolic bread represents the unity of the community, and attendees will have the opportunity to savor slices while searching for the hidden figurines (muñequitos) – a cherished tradition that brings good luck to the finder.

"Día de Reyes is a beloved celebration that brings our community together," said Clark County Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom. "We are thrilled to host this event once again and share the rich cultural heritage of our Hispanic community with all residents."

The event will feature a valuable resource fair, connecting attendees with essential services. Clark County departments, community partners and organizations will be on-site to provide information on health, education resources, government programs, and much more.

"This event is not only a celebration of our vibrant culture but also an invaluable opportunity for our residents to access vital resources and connect with the community," said Clark County Manager Kevin Schiller.

The event is free and open to the public. All are invited to join the celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parking is free.
