Tropicana & Jones Intersection Construction Planned for Two Weekends

Tropicana & Jones Intersection Construction Planned for Two Weekends

Clark County Public Works will perform road construction at the Jones Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue intersection over two consecutive weekends as part of the ongoing Jones Blvd. improvement project. The intersection will remain open with reduced lanes during most work periods.

This construction will resurface the road and install traffic signal upgrades, improving traffic flow and enhancing safety for vehicles and pedestrians.

CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

Weekend 1 (March 21-24):

  • Friday (9 p.m.) - Monday (5 a.m.): Work focuses on the south side of Tropicana Avenue and southeast/southwest corners of Jones Boulevard, with traffic shifting from east to west side Saturday evening.

Weekend 2 (March 28-31):

  • Friday (9 p.m.) - Monday (5 a.m.): Work focuses on the north side of Tropicana Avenue and northeast/northwest corners, with final paving and temporary striping completed Sunday night.

Traffic Impacts

Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones and take alternate routes when possible. Due to the fluid nature of roadwork, the public is reminded that construction schedules and travel impacts can change on short notice, and they are advised to check navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps for real-time information.

Business access will be maintained throughout construction, with at least two access points remaining open for each corner at all times. Driveway closures will occur on a rolling basis, with flaggers assisting traffic as needed.
