Clark County Breaks Ground on Transformative ‘Mixed-Use Microbusiness Park’ to Boost Workforce Housing and Entrepreneurship

Clark County broke ground today on an innovative mixed-use development designed to transform the Historic Westside community through workforce housing and economic opportunity. The $53 million Lake Mead Microbusiness Park will feature 76 workforce housing units alongside retail space, offices, small business support services and a dedicated maker space for local entrepreneurs.

More than 200 community members joined county officials, state and federal leaders, and the historic Parson-Mason family for the groundbreaking ceremony at the site, located west of I-15 on Lake Mead Boulevard.

“This groundbreaking represents more than just new construction – it's an investment in the future of our Historic Westside community,” said Commissioner William McCurdy II. “By combining new housing with spaces for small businesses and entrepreneurs, we're creating opportunities for residents to live, work, and grow their dreams right here in their own neighborhood.”

"We are thrilled to expand our presence to Las Vegas’s Historic Westside,” said David Brint, Co-Founder and Principal at Brinshore Development. “With this project, we aim to strengthen this community further by providing quality housing and supporting local small businesses for residents to thrive for years to come.”

The development will include:

  • Over 20,000 square feet of commercial space
  • First-floor retail, office and restaurant and second-floor offices, classrooms, multimedia studios and collaborative spaces
  • Entrepreneur maker space with business development resources
  • Studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residential units
  • Housing for residents earning 80% or below area median income ($76,160 annually for families)

The project honors local history through its location adjacent to the Parson-Mason family home. Stella Mason Parson, who became Nevada's first African American woman college graduate in 1952, and her husband Rev. Claude H. Parson Jr., who led the Vegas View Church of God in Christ, helped establish the area's strong community foundation.

The development, funded through Clark County and State of Nevada American Rescue Plan Act resources, strategically connects to existing community assets. Its location next to the Las Vegas Culinary Academy and Nevada Partners creates natural workforce development partnerships.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2026, with leasing opportunities for both housing and commercial spaces becoming available in early 2026. Metcalf Builders, a Nevada-based commercial construction company with projects throughout the state, is constructing the housing portion.
