Las Vegas Justice Court’s Mental Health Court Inaugural Graduation Celebrates Hope and Healing

The Las Vegas Justice Court will mark a groundbreaking milestone with its inaugural Mental Health Court graduation at the Regional Justice Center in downtown Las Vegas on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. Featuring Clark County Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom as keynote speaker, the event will celebrate participants who have successfully completed a transformative yearlong treatment program, resulting in the dismissal of their cases.

Launched in February 2024 by Judge Eric Goodman and Judge Nadia Wood, the Mental Health Court represents an innovative approach to justice, addressing the critical intersection of mental health and criminal justice. The program provides comprehensive resources and services to individuals with serious mental illness who were previously cycling through the justice system for misdemeanor offenses. The Mental Health Court connects participants with housing, medication management, counseling, group therapy, occupational therapy, and wraparound services to stop criminal behavior and increase their overall wellness and stability.

To graduate, participants must complete a minimum one-year program, fulfill their individual case plans, and secure ongoing funding for their treatment and housing. Members of the community are welcome to celebrate the graduates’ hard work and accomplishments. For additional information, call 702-671-0836 or email LVJCDepartment16@clarkcountynv.gov.
