Laughlin Neighborhoods to See Road Improvements Starting in April
Work will commence Monday, April 17 on a nearly $7 million project to completely rebuild about nine miles of roads and make other improvements in several Laughlin neighborhoods.
The project consists of replacing roadway pavement and damaged or deteriorated curb, gutter and sidewalks. Sidewalk ramps also will be replaced to make them compliant with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The neighborhoods that will see the improvements are Canyon Rim, Terrace V and VI, El Mirage Park, Cielo De Azul, Villa Bonita II, Cottage Hill, Laughlin Estates and El Mirage Estates.
“We’re excited to see this project come to fruition,” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, who represents the area. “These neighborhoods will benefit greatly from this project and I hope to see it completed with as little inconvenience to residents as possible.”
The project contractor, Las Vegas Paving, will perform the work between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents will be notified by the contractor 72 hours in advance of any impacts from the project.
Anyone with questions about the project may contact the County’s Laughlin Administrative Offices at (702) 298-0828 or AdministrativeServices@ClarkCountyNV.gov. The Clark County Commission approved funding for the project in October. Funds were provided through the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.
