Services Available Through Vegas Strong Resiliency Center

The Family Reunification and Assistance Center at the Las Vegas Convention Center is demobilizing after serving hundreds of students, staff and worried family members following today’s shooting incident on UNLV’s campus.

Clark County set up the operation with the Las Vegas Strong Resiliency Center and other community partners in the aftermath of the incident as a reunification and resource site for those impacted by the shooting and to provide counseling, food, transportation and other services. Clark County, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and UNLV officials are actively working with the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission to help to return students who live on campus back to their housing.

Clark County activated its Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC), which is managed by its Fire Department, to help coordinate the community’s response to the incident. The reunification and assistance center was set up at the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall 1 and 2 off Convention Center Drive and Paradise Road to help parents, family members and students looking for loved ones to reconnect, and to provide assistance.

With the demobilization of the Convention Center operation, resources and referrals for counseling and other services will be provided by the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center. The center is located at 2915 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 100, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Its phone number is (702) 455-AIDE (2433). Callers seeking assistance after hours will be referred to Nevada 211, a resource for non-emergency information and general community assistance referrals.  Crisis support services also are available to UNLV students through Student Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) by calling (702) 895-3627 or emailing caps@unlv.edu.
